The Realm of Legarion counts many kingdoms and empires, but this map focusses on the regions around the Lion kingdom.
The nations represented on this map are the following:
The Lion Kingdom: The mightiest nation in this part of the Realm.
The Black Falcon Empire: A fallen empire of which the remnant army is hellbent on taking revenge on those who destroyed their beloved nation.
The Kingdom of Morcia: A small yet powerfull land, the birthplace of the Gemblade
Ankoria: Desolated and empty, only inhabited by crooks and mercenaries.
The Dragon Lands: Former territories of the Dragon Kingdoms. No one has heard of the Dragon Masters for centuries.
The Northern Islands: The land of the Vikings. Fierce warriors and loyal allies. They live of the trade and plunderings.
There are other population groups who live in this area without having their own nation or territories:
The Forestmen: A cult that lives in hideouts and strongholds spread accorss the realm. No one knows precisely where their settlements are.
Trolls: They live in villages and camps in the mountains, mostly to the East of the Lion Kingdom.
The Fright knights: Fright knight troops have been spotted wandering the borders of our territories. We suspect they live in now abandoned Black Falcon settlements.
Vladek's Armies: Ather Vladek's retreat out of Ankoria, we are not sure where he resides.
Magic
A deep magic flows through Legarion.
Crystals imbued with magical power rest in the earthcrust, waiting to be found and used.
They are sources of power for those who have dedicated their lives to understanding it's intricacies.
Wizards train from childhood to harness the power stored in these gems, and are rewarded with eternal life because of it.
Of course there are those who use this power for evil.
Necromancers abuse the power of the Stones and perform unholy acts with it.
They reanimate dead bodies or curse the wounded.
The process of creating undead soldier go as follows: When a soldeir dies, their body starts to decay.
When all soft substances are gone and nothing but the bones remain, a necromancer can reanimate the skeleton and force it to do it's bidding.
When a body is fresh, a necromancer can speed up the decaying process, and preserve some of the person's skill and knowledge.
The reanimated body will now be able to use skills they learned during life.
There are a plethora of different curses a dark magician can perform, but this one is most relevant to the war at hand.

Artefacts
The Realm of Legarion is littered with magic artefacts, both good and evil.
The most well known example of this are the Gemblades.
The art of forging these prescious swords had been lost for ages, a blacksmith from Morcia rediscovered the secret to making these powerful blades.
He, as of now, refuses to share this info though.
The Land of Morcia is home to a lot of these artefacts.
The book of Morcia and the Shield of ages are the most prominent ones.
The Book of Morcia is a thick, magical manuscript filled with spells and hexes.
It is said to be the bigest bundle of forbidden knowledge in the realm.
The Shield of Ages was a powerful weapon. This shield was said to be impervious to all formes of damage
and to achieve unbelievable magical feats. Unfortunately, it was shattered centuries ago.
The Heart of the Shield of Ages is in posession of the Morcian King and is a powerful artefact on it's own,
but would be so much more effective if it got reunited with the other Shards.
Sadly, the other Shards were lost after Vladek tried to use them for his own nefarious goals.
