Basil the Batlord has resurfaced and is rebuilding an army.
The Fright Knights were believed to be extinct after they were defeated during last battle of the war
against the Lion knights of old.
When the Fright Knights first fought our nation, they were still being led by Majisto's cousin, Willa the witch.
After her death, Basil held a last stand in his castle, and was gloriously defeated by Queen Eleonora's ancestor.
On the brink of death, Basil was found by the Dark One, who cursed him and his most loyay henchmen to eternal life.
Wounded soldiers lost all colour in their skin and gained glowing red eyes.
They would never need food nor drink again and don't age, but their wounds will never heal and they will never feel fullfilled again.
The bodies of the dead desintegrated, as their spirits were pulled back from the underworld.
They live on as Shades, beings that exist in limbo between the world of the dead and the living.
Basil has sworn revenge on the Lion knights, even if his quarrel is with a king who lived hundreds of years ago.
He blames them for his fate that is worse than death.
Basil the Batlord
Often refered to as the vampire knight
(which is a deceitful name, as vampires are creatures of legends)
Basil is a cruel and wicked man who hailed from a country far east of the Lion's Kingdom.
There he was an ordinary warlord, but that changed after he met Willa the Witch.
Basil became commander of the Fright Knights under the rule of Willa before he was defeated by our forefathers.
Mounted on a black dragon he was the most feared knight of his time.
Many believe he was under a spell that made him obey the Witch, and it is believed that her magic is what made him even more insane.
Basil hides his cursed face under a black, winged helmet and he wields a gemblade.
The Dark One
The mysterious wizard known as the dark one is a true force of evil.
The only thing we know about him that he is thousands of years old and that he was once affiliated with the Dragon knights.
This necromancer uses dark magic to reincarnate the skeletons of those who died long ago, and he has raised an army of them.
The Bonesword he wields is how he controls the undead, an artefact of a long gone era.
Jester Gogo's Skeleton
Once the Jester of King Brutus, Gogo was a noble and funny man.
He traveled around the king's lands to perform his jokes, when he was killed during an ambush by a robbers band called the Wolfpack.
His body was never found, but now his bones have been used for evil.
Gogo's skeleton serves the Necromancer, and thus causes sorrow instead of laughter.
Lord Orwyn's Skeleton
Lord Orwyn used to be a Black Falcon general.
After his skull was caved in during a battle, his body was taken by the Dark One, as his knowledge and prowess in leading an army was needed for the Undead army.
After his body deteriated and nothing but bones was left, the poor man was reanimated.
Orwyn's skull was repaired in order for the necromancer's link to hold.
He has proven to be a cunning strategist, even after death.
Army structure and equipment
The Fright Knight army consists of undead soldiers and the Cursed Soldiers.
Reanimated skeletons form the backbone of the Cursed Army lead by the Dark One,
while Basil leads his loyal men as a seperate unit.
The army of the dead is armed with various weapons, like swords, spears and axes mounted on bones.
They have an archery unit and cavalry riding on skeleton horses.
Skeletons are tough to destroy. They don't feel pain and don't bleed, so the only way to truly incapacitate them is to break their bones.
Warhammers or axes proved to be the most effective weapons against skeletons, as they'll break bone better than swords.
Arrows are nigh useless, unless you can pierce the skull.
When a skull breaks, the connection between the skeleton and the necromancer becomes undone.
They are aware of this weakness, so some skeletons do wear helmets.
The Bonesword is a magical item that allows the Dark One to controll the skeletons.
Where this blade to be shattered, he would lose all control over his minions.
Unfortunately, the blade has been enchanted with powerfull spels so that is practically indestructable.
Basil wields a Gemsword he robbed from the Black Falcon emperor himself.
