The Knights of Morcia

Founded by a rogue Lion knight prince, Morcia has brought forth some of the best warriors in the realm. The kingdom consists of multiple provinces ruled separately, but with a central royal house.

Plenty of magical artefacts, like the Book of Morcia and the Shield of Ages are created here. Morcia is also the birthplace of the Gemswords, who are now widespread in the realm of Legarion. These powerful magical blades are regarded as a symbol of power, over which many wars have been fought. Recenlty the blacksmith that serves King Mathias has rediscovered to forge these weapons, but refuses to share the secrets of his craft.

Traditionally the king is chosen by the Grand tournament that is held every time an old king passes. It is custom that each province chose 1 knight to represent them. Wars and coups like the one Vladek attempted are not uncommon though.

Now that stability has returned and King Mathias sits sturdily in the throne again, he travels around with his trusted knights, searching for the remnants of Vladek's.

King Mathias

Descendant of the first king of Morcia, Mathias has ruled the land for decades. He survived Vladek's first coup and lead a succesful battle against his former advisor in Ankoria. In possession of the Heart of the Shield of Ages, he hopes to defeat Vladek once and for all with the help of his allies, the Lion Knights.

Sir Jayko of Talonjay

The blue knight. He is known for his speed and for being quite the showoff. His shield proudly displays the heraldry of his provinces, a hawk. Jayko was the knight to defeat Lord Vladek in the rigged Grand Tournament using the heart of the Shield of Ages, and he destroyed the Vladmask, after which he was crowned the next king or Morcia by king Mathias. Jayko has first hand experienced the power of the Shield of Ages, and wants to collect all the Shards to reforge the weapon.

Sir Danju of Aldendan

The wisest knight of the bunch, Danju the purple knight is the advisor of the king. His wisdom and experience was of huge importance during the trails to aquire the Heart of the Shield of Ages. The symbol of his province is the wolf.

Sir Rascus of Banteras

Known as a jokester, the green knight wanted to be an actor originally, but decided to serves a more noble cause. His acrobatics and agility are second to none, and have come in useful scaling walls and distracting enemies. His homeland of Banteras is a situated in a rain foret, and thus is it natural that it's heraldry represents an ape.

Sir Santis of Orkosan

Santis is known as the knight of the bear, or the red knight, and is renowned for his strength. During the battle of Ankoria, he and Rascus snuck into Vladek's dark fortress. Santis broke open the front gate with this incredible strengh, while the green knight held back waves of enemy soldiers. Their efforts gave King Mathias' forces, supported by Danju and Jayko, the opportunity to storm the castle.

Sir Kentis

Squire to sir Rascus, Kentis is being trained to eventually replace the 4 original knights of Morcia, as they grew older. He wears the dark green armour associated with the province of Banteras. His signature weapon is a mace and he carries a heater shield with the sigil of his family, the unicorn.

Sir Adric

The disciplined student of Sir Santis, Adric is good and sensible fighter. His large battleaxe and bull design bearing shield will soon be feared among his enemies. His red armour reveals that he hails from the province of Orkosan.

Morcia has a no national army, but each province is required to have a unit of soldiers. Though the main strength of this kingdom are the individual knights who serve the king directly. Sir Santis, Sir Rascus, Sir Danju and Sir Jayko are undisputable the best warriors in Legarion. They each wield a Gemblade forged by the royal blacksmith. The king himself wields a Gemblade as well, and is protected by a custom made shield inlayed with the Heart of the Shield of Ages.

King Mathias has taken his 4 trusted knights and 2 of their squires with him on his travels to the Lion Kingdom. Sir Adric and sir Kentis may not be knights just yet, they are of noble blood and want to prove themselves of being worthy to be the successors of the Hero Knights who saved the king years ago.
